  • Quadro FX1800

    System:
    Windows XP Professional x64 Edition SP2, x2 Xeon E5220, NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800, 3dsmax 2011 64bit, Vray Adv 1.50.SP5, Vray RT 1.90.01

The dongle has been correctly updated and the new RT GPU starts and works.

The only one problem is that once started the RT GPU render all the system slow down very much: for example if I try to move the camera into the viewport the refresh is very slowly, it regards not only 3dsmax interation but also common operations in windows like opening windows explorer and so on.
CPU of course is just 10% used so I think that using GPU for rendering the video FPS decreases... I don't know... can I solve in some way?
How can I explore the scene smoothly like Dimitrov does in the demo video "V-Ray RT GPU Beta Announcement - September 8th, 2010"?

    Thanks a lot!

thank you very much; decreasing RayBundleSize and/or RaysPerPixel I solve... anyway I think that a configuration like mine (just one Quadro FX 1800) isn't the better choise for RT GPU.. quite slow... it goes faster the CPU RT

      Thanks.

        Hey

Just a tip. the smaller ray bundle sample the faster it update, the less GPU is doing processing and more fetching data... get urself some GPU measure soft, like EVGA Precision to see which ray bundle will give u the best results...

U also can use Mixed mode to get both CPU and GPU working on 1 image

          Thank you very much Dadal!

I'll takt a look to some GPU measure soft.

What about to use CPU and GPU together? From the drop down menu I can swtich on the one or the other. Maybe you mean on a distribute render?
          thank you!
