VRay 2.0 RT

I installed VRay 2.0 and RT GPU is slower then CPU version. For a second jump to 1500 kpath/s (really simple scene, so I think still low, but then to 400 (?!!!). CPU still go at 400-600 kpath/s.

I have nvidia GTX 295 (driver 260.99), win 7, max 2011 64bit, 8GB RAM.

Its really annoying, cant test GPU version I paid for.

Is it for any scene? Did the V-Ray RT GPU beta work fine? If you run a GPU monitoring program (like EVGA precision) does it show that both GPUs of the 295 card are working?

I cant do anything with it, even simplier scene and RT GPU doesnt go higher then 1600 kpath/s, but only for a second and then drops to around 400. With previous version, its computing about 2500-3000 kpath/s, so about 4-5x faster then CPU. Now its useless, dont know where is a problem. Maybe new nvidia driver version, have to install some older? Or I dont know.

Its doing for any scene. GPU fan is faster and rivatuner shows temperature is rising, but maybe not so much as it should, hard to tell.

Ok, what is the GPU usage? Have you tested other GPU programs (e.g. iray) for CPU vs GPU performance?

Riva Tuner doesnt show GPU usage, only core MHz, memory MHz and temperature. MHz are high, so its in 3D mode, not 2D saving mode. And temperature and fan speed goes high too. I tested IRay, but its some time ago and I dont like it, so I wait for VRay

There is a free program called "EVGA precision" it will tell you more accurately the GPU usage.

Both cores are around 35-60 percent.

Ok then; what are your bundle size / rays per pixel parameters in the V-Ray RT settings?

I think the default: 256/16

No, should be fine, I think. Are you using the latest drivers? [EDIT] Just saw they are the newest.

I got simmilar issue. Thought it was just my scene but it looks like its general...

I dunno why but my CPU is faster than GPU...

Earlier computing was about 3000 kpath/s, dont know the GPU usage. But with the later build and now with 2.0 beta its useless What I have to do?

There is nothing too different between the two builds. Can you just for a moment go back to the older build and see if it works fine? If yes, can you email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com? There are several things I can try to figure out where the problem is.
