V-Ray RT GPU and ATI cards with 10.12 drivers

Hello,

Finally the 10.12 drivers from ATI support V-Ray RT GPU; there is one remaining issue though: the second GPU of dual cards like the 5970 card will not work properly and needs to be disabled from the V-Ray OpenCL device select utility. Multiple GPUs on separate cards however seem to work fine. ATI are aware of the issue, so hopefully it will be resolved as well.

From my initial tests with a 5970 card, performance is very scene-dependent and gets better for more complicated scenes. I haven't tested newer cards though.

No, it probably won't work right now. Currently V-Ray RT assumes that all the video cards can load the same binary GPU code. This means that the cards must be more or less similar. Will work on this though.

Finally had some time to try this out, but after installing the 10.12 drivers and even the full control center suite I don't get my ATI card from the select openCL devices menu, just the 2x GTX 470s. Do I have to remove the 470's to test it out?

I don't think a mixed configuration will work just yet; you can try disabling the GTX's (probably no need to physically remove them).

Not sure how to disable them without removing, can you explain that? I've always just popped them out, but if I can avoid it everyting that'd be great!
