You can do that from the Device Manager (right-click a card and select "Disable device"; you can also re-enable it in the same way). Not quite sure how it will work if one of the cards is the primary display adapter though, so some care might be necessary

Both cards I use for render only, so no prob there.
After disablign them, I get a blank spot in select openCL device. I can actually set the the device to " ", which seems odd, instead of the "cannot find openCL device" error.

        Interesting...
After restarting I still select " " as my device, hit set, and launch max, it works... Much slower than CPU though, and the look is quite different from CPU. weird. It's getting late over here so I'll try to post more in the morning if you're curious.

I'm trying to get this to run on an older ATI HD4850 card but I can't get it to run without crashing the RT status window. I installed 10.12. I can see the card in the "Select OpenCL devices" program and RT seems to be using it (see the status window). As soon as it starts though it crashes the vray.exe window. I've tried it in XPx64 and win7x64, both are the same. I know it won't be that fast but should it even run or is something wrong?

try deleting *.clbin file from your temp directory, usually is needed after installing new drivers...

Thanks but there's no .clbin files there (or anywhere - is that right?).

Type %temp% in an explorer window to go to the temporary folder (it may be hidden). In any case I'm not sure the 4xxx series will work with this...

No .clbin in the %temp% folder (I checked all hidden and system files too). It sounds like it's time to upgrade ....

I have just installed a new Radeon 6950 and I cannot get it to work...!

The display drivers crashes when the RT comes to the point: "Total number of lights added by updateLights ():0

Please Help... I have looked so much forward to try the new GPU function.

I can't get the 6970 card that we have here to work either... It works with the 5xxx cards though. Anyways, I will let the guys at ATI know about this so that they can fix the issue.

                          Best regards,

Just want to mention that i have the same problem with the AMD Radeon 6950 2GB like Bpositive.
I assume everyone with the latest AMD 69XX is using the 10.12a drivers.

Thanks for making AMD cards usable for GPU rendering too.

Any updates on the 6970 issue? I'm currently holding off on buying my 6970s and upgrading to vray 2.0 until I get the good word!
