Hi my old dual dual xeon 5060 pc is getting a bit old
and cant afford the top end dual 6 core xeon (24gb ram) that i have in the office.

has anyone got the new 990x intel 6cores?

was thinking of these bits from scan.
SLIK Core i7 BUNDLE
Overclocked at 4.2 Ghz
Intel Core i7 990X - Hex Core CPU
6Gb Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz (although would buy 24gb)
Asus Rampage III ROG
Prolimatech Megahalems Cooler
120mm Akasa Apache Fan
(already have 2 rapter 150gb drives in raid 0 and 1tb storage)

I was told it wasn't possible to overclock my i7 Bloomfield (4core, HT) if I put over 6Gb of RAM on the motherboard (Gigabyte X58A UD3R.. i think). However this was 9months ago.

I'm not sure is this still the case but it might be worth checking up on?
