  • Low end graphics card

Can anyone recommend a graphics card in the $100 to $150 price range. I don't use RT. I just want decent wire frame display. I'm looking at a GeForce GT 440 or GeForce GTX 550 Ti. I'm not sure if spending the extra money will make a difference considering I'm not using RT. Any thought would be appreciated.

Well that would depend on your scene size. Also, better GPU isn't just for RT, it will also help with viewport in general. I'd say spend as much on your GPU as your budget allows, or get more RAM for your system
    Kind Regards,

I'm looking at 3 GTX 560 Ti. I've been using low end Quadros like the FX 560 and they seem to work okay for my scenes. Sometimes I use Nth faces to speed things up. It seems like this should be a decent low end card. The place I'm buying the rig from has the 460 for the same price (768 meg). It looks to me like the GTX 560 Ti is a step up from the 460. Has anyone used this one yet?

        I'm planning on 12GB (6x2GB) PC3 12800 DDR3 1600 Triple Channel Ram.

i have both, the 460 2gb and the 560 ti 2gb. i would recommend the 560ti, because it has more cuda cores and it runs about 15 to 20 deg. cooler than the 460.
