  • RT-GPU and Gainward GTX 580 3GB

    Dear Sirs,

    I'm testing your Vray-RT GPU 2.0-SP1 with my new Gainward GTX580 3GB.

during the rendering process, measuring memory with EVGA Precision tool, my scene fills 800Mb about, texture memory is at the default value (512)

if I raise the value to 1024Mb Vray crashes

Vray doesn't support the 3GB Gainward GTX580 memory? For GTX580 there is a 1.5Gb limit?

If the texture size is raised to 1024 should occupy 1,6GB in the gpu memory?

    Best regards.

i think the texture size is in pixels. 512x512 or 1024x1024 so it will use 3,2 gb!

i got a similar problem while testing my point of view 3GB gtx580... if the scene gets to big it unloads gpu ram and crashes...
max uses around 500mb-600mb and when total memory load gets to approx. 2.2gb it stops working for me...

Is this the only gpu in your system (e.g. is it the one used by Windows as well)?

        Best regards,
        Vlado
