  • Why? Why? Why?

    Dear Sirs,

    I've installed the new VR2.0SP1
I want to use my two networked GTX580
If I start my render locally with the first workstation the render's progression runs well
...but if I add the second workstation, where I set the OpenCL board from the control panel, this machine always start the CPUs and don't the GPU!

I can solve the problem only starting 3ds Max 2010 on this second workstation, rendering a simple teapot, leaving the RT server window opened and then (only then) starting the final render from the first workstation.

Could you explain me what's wrong?

    Thanks

    Best regards.

Are you running the V-Ray RT render server as a service, or manually/through the Start Up folder? If you are running it as a Windows service, it may be unable to access the GPU (this is a limitation of Windows).

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

      manually

this is your shortcut in the Chaos menu:

      "Vray RT render server"

I haven't installed it like server.
