  • 8 Thread 3770K or 12 Thread 3930K?

    Hi all

A quick question. How does the 3rd generation Ivybridge 8 Thread 3770K stack up to the 2nd generation Sandybridge 12 Thread 3930K?

The 3770K runs standard on 3.9Ghz but only 8 threads but its 3rd generation i7
The 3930K runs standard only 3.2Ghz but with 12 threads and its 2nd generation i7 (and its about 80% more expensive)

Does the increase in threads in the 3930K make up for the lack of clock speed?
Or does the increase in clock speed in the 3770K make it kick the but of the 3930K?

Anybody has any thoughts or experience or can point me to some 3ds Max VRay Render benchmarks that illustrates it better?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

Err I might be out dated but both of these CPU should run stable at 4ghz up to 4.5...

Id say more threads more CPU speed...
