dammit look at those luxmark scores.. i have to buy a new gcard in a week or so..(new workstation coming) id SO love it to be an amd one. buying a crippled nvidia card just seems like a waste of money but i have no choice...
id say the 580 still looks good from that result though, although surprise surprise nvidia are stopping production so get em while you can.
having said that, the 4gb ram is nice.. and in that case your choice is limited to 670/680.. in which case id definitely say the 670 is a better choice.
its 2 chips on the same board.. not quite the same thing no shared memory for a start. in fact no advantage over 2 cards (in fact probably slightly slower) and slightly more expensive.

I was just about to order a 4gb 670 when I stumbled upon quite a few reports mentioning it having lots of issues with DX9 on the gaming front (cant find links now). So I decided to opt for the 3gb 580gtx. The only one that wasnt out of stock everywhere I searched was the hydro version. Finally found the Classified model on Amazon. So yeah, get'em while you can...

Maybe it's drivers fault?
I still can put my hands on 580 3GB : http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...s%20Family&sw=
it's everywhere here in Poland. So maybe it will be good idea to grab it especially since I heard that nvidia crippled down 600 3d performance compared to 500 series.
Perhaps, but I would be surprised if Nvidia would even consider fixing issues stemming from old tech (DX9), not to mention the fact that they're obviously pushing CG creators towards expensive workstation cards with the apparent crippling of the latest gaming series
