  • New workstation HP z420- hard time instaling windows

    Heya

Just got z420(just to be clean I was against buying it...)

In any case it has win 7. I insert win xp disk and restart system. It then boots from disk and when it loads stuff off it it blue screen on me...

    error code stop:0x0000007B

    gotta love technology from HP....

Anyway I haven't started kicking the workstation yet and going to my more... "special" methods of dealing with hardware and I thought Id take it slow and soft... soo any1 has any idea or I'm grabbing screw driver?

Might be a driver for a hard drive controller that windows doesn't have on the disk by default?

Humh in which case I either have to install it by hand using win 7 disk or install win xp from other pc to this hdd and then hmmm fun !

      Thanks!

not really, you may just want to enter the bios and check if you have any option to configure your drives in a way xp can recognize.

Or DUN DUN DUUUUUUN stick the drivers on to a floppy disk and load them before windows setup starts.

You can also do a slipstreamed version of your windows CD where you can add in your serial number, name, organization and also add in extra drivers that arne't on the original CD - might be a better option. Nlite does this really niecly - http://www.nliteos.com/
