  • ATI or GFX?

One of our Nvidia GTX480 cards is on its way out and we are looking at a replacement. My default choice would be the GTX670, but I wondered how the ATI cards compare these days. We don't use RT very much at all these days (as various textures/plugins that we use are unsupported), though I'm not sure if ATI cards with RT.
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

AMD cards don't work with the official drivers yet, and I don't know if/when this issue will be fixed. I do know however that V-Ray RT GPU will support more textures

I have used both ATI and nVidia cards. I will never buy another ATI card for either production or casual use. They feel slow and a bit spastic compared to the nVidia's I have used.

when AMD can sort out the driver issue, I'll get an ATI 7970 without blinking.
But until then (which doesn't seem soon) I'd say nVidia is the way to go

They have an internal driver version which works, but I don't know when it will be released.

Recently there is an user from our local community shOw us his ATi cards outsmart every NvIdia card including the to GTX580 (by the time his test GTX680 not available yet). The card he use is pretty much a low end ATi. Anyone has the same card as him HD6870 can verify the performance?
