  • Has anyone tried an external PCIe expansion box?

Hello! Has anyone tried a product like this?

    http://www.mypccase.com/neexdepcslex.html

It seems very promising for GPU rendering.

    Thanks!

I use the old PCIe Gen2 version and it works great, but have some problem to get 2 of them to work connected to the same computer. But i think it's a BIOS resource problem (can only see 7 of the 8 Tesla cards).

    regards

Thanks, Sören! Are you using RT to do final projects? Is it amazingly fast? Have you tried it with any other rendering packages? Thanks again?

I have started to do product picture with RT and that is amazingly fast and it speeds up my workflow! The same thing for exteriors now when there is support for forestpro... Interiors is a different thing, it works and its fast but not amazingly fast. You also get a big hit when you render higher resolutions like 3000-4000px and up, this is not because it scales bad, its just that there is a lot more pixels.
The other GPU packages i use is Arion and Octane render.

Thanks again, Sören! I am not familiar with Arion, but I have used RT, and I am considering adding Octane as an option. ForestPack Pro had been holding me back from GPU rendering - until now. May I ask - have you successfully used ForestPack Pro? Would you consider posting an exterior done with GPU, and post the approx. render time?
          Thank you - Brian
