    Hi All,

I am having some artifacting issues in GPU RT . Has anyone one run into this issue? It's mainly on the floor which is a bit reflective for the result I want. I'm running (3) 680 4GB's GTX's

    I would appreciate any advise.

    Thanks!

    Eric

Which part of the image should I be looking at? I don't see anything particularly wrong with either image (they look identical too).

I guess he's referring to the coloured spots which are most visible on the floor of the first image.

      edit:
I ran into the same thing yesterday, sparkling spots around the edges of very bright and glossy reflections, but checking "use 32 bit fb" seemed to solve the problem.

      edit 2:
the artefacts are not limited to GPU, as they appear when rendering with CPU too (32 bit fb seems to solve the problem as well).

Ah, those - they are a 3ds Max bug when the Max display gamma state is different from the sRGB button state in the V-Ray frame buffer for the production renderer. As you pointed out, a 32-bit frame buffer solves it.

For future V-Ray builds, we are trying to improve the whole gamma set up a bit.

          Thanks guys!
That solved the issue...one more question since the activeSade uses the max frame buffer when I clone out am image (with 32bit enabled) it changes the gamma (darker). anyway to resolve this?

I'm using gamma 2.2 in the color mapping settings.

          Thanks!

What is your 3ds Max display gamma setting? Do you have the V-Ray VFB enabled in the production V-Ray renderer?

3ds Max display gamma setting is 2.2 and the V-Ray VFB is enabled in the production V-Ray renderer.

Ok then; you can try to turn on the sRGB button in the V-Ray VFB and set the color mapping gamma back to 1.0 - this should solve the issue.

That solved the issue with the production render...RT now displays a darker render in the activeshade.

                    Hi,

Can you post a screenshot to see the differences?
