  • another video card thread not for RT

So, I am wondering if there is a decent card to replace a Quadro600?
Really just looking for viewport performance gain, not so much worried about RT capabilities.
When I search, there is much talk of RT capability but ATM I am interested in just improving workflow a bit.

Current card is quite good, but am interested in the options...
I keep reading about the GTX670, but is a card of its level overkill if not used for RT?

    Thanks in advance

    edit:
system is an i7@4.5 running win764, in case this matters

I would suggest getting whichever geforce you can afford which gets a good benchmark score in games. I think there's a bit too much emphasis in our industry on the 'right' card, when there's no such thing.

What I would love to see is thte quadro K4000 (kepler) benchmarks with vray rt, if they only put out there a tesla kepler based as well, with half the price tag of the current one (around 3.5k) so you could have a maximus setup. (quadro+tesla both kepler version) I would throw 2.5k at that
