  • Dual graphics cards for Max / Vray - non SLI.

    Hi,

I currently have a laptop that supports dual graphics cards (custom build based on a Clevo P370em)

I have a AMD 7970m which functions really well in terms of viewport performance...but of course Vray RT does not work.

My question is: Can you run two different sets of graphics drivers?...AMD and Nvidia in this case if I was to install a new card that works with RT.

If that can be done, my next question would be -

If I installed a second Nvidia card, can 3ds max be configured to utilise one card in the viewport and then can I configure Vray RT to use the other card?.

    Thanks!

Last time I checked, it was not possible to have graphics cards that require different display drivers unless you have a Tesla with the compute driver. Things may have changed since then though.

    Best regards,

Thanks for the reply....I guess I might just have to ditch the AMD card then!
