  • What's Your Cooling System?

    What are your cooling systems?
With multiple GPUs becoming more common, I'm finding the need to obtain better cooling.
I had a Corsair H80 that died on me last week and I liked it so much that I picked up a H100i.
It's top mounted in an older EATX case and the fans pulls air downwards. The grill on top is actually too big as it was meant for 140mm fans.
I have a 120mm 3 pin coolermaster exhausting out the back but am thinking of switching over to Corsair Performances.
There's a lower separate chamber for a 1200W PSU and an intake fan that blows that air back.
Also one more upper chamber fan as an intake and a side 200m blowing inwards.

So basically I have a lot of intakes and only one rear exhaust (aside from the graphics cards) which seems like it would be a bad thing.
Running Precision X solely so that I can turn up the GPU fans.

    It's under 70-degrees Fahrenheit at room/ambient temperature.
3930K overclocked processor is hovering around 37-38C idle.
System temp is at 32C idle.
    GPUs are at 36-45C idle.

Curious if anyone had any recommendations for reducing temps even further. I don't mind the noise so much as long as I can work with stability and speed.

I have a 3960K OC'ed with a H100i and a full tower case with the cooling mounted on top. 37C idle isn't bad at all. I'll take my mb/cpu a bit hotter for quieter operations with a slightly reduced life-cycle (because I'll upgrade in 2 years anyway).

Here's my case: I like it. It's quite big, but very nice looking.

      Hey Colin.
That's actually a sweet-looking case and I'm not one to care much for looks.
37 is around my average. How many cards do you have?
Are you using negative or positive pressure?
Is your H100i venting up (outside) or in?

I think case and cooling is a priority - more so than processor or MB because it is something that lasts (my EATX is probably 10 years old.)
Plus you have to consider adding cards these days which mid-ATXs provide only really tight fits.
Much to my surprise, my 3960K has lasted several years and appears to still to top the charts for both overclocking and price.
