I was looking at them, none around here in the UK but looks a good buy on paper for my needs so might give it a go.

We have a 4k tv in a meeting room that I keep having to drop to 1080p to be able to use max on it. so no, not at all.
If it's 27" on your desk though you'll probably be fine.

Im running a 27" 4K samsung at home for my primary monitor and a 2.5K 27" Asus for my secondary and LOVE having max on my 4K. it took a bit getting used to but the increased menu real estate is awesome. In windows 8.1 you can rescale the interface to be bigger but you can get bad jpg artifacting and blurring on the buttons, I just leave mine at default.

I would sugest NEC screen with build in hardware callibrator for best color accuracy. Everything else in my eyes are waste of money tbh.

I'm myself looking into a new screen but I rather go for those new 34' screen that has the 21:9 ratio.

I've read so much complains about how max and other programs don't scale properly at 4k.
I think it's a great technology boost but the software isn't there yet to support it
That's why I would be to go for those new 34' screen that has a already proven 1440px height UI but just with that extra bit in the weight who is really nice to have.

I've seen it in real and seriously, it's been a long time I was stuck in front telling myself : "woaw that's really awesome".

Stan you meant this one? : http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...9&sku=210-ADTR

But it's curved I don't think it will work for working with graphics, please correct me if I'm wrong because setup with the above 34 on one side and add this 27 inch on the other: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...9&sku=210-ADKB might be SWEET !

Very interesting ! The 21:9 proportion isn't a bad idea to lay out a functional workspace. Most of those monitors are curved indeed, but I found a few that have regular flat panels.

                      IMO, curved is better.
You want to be as perpendicular as possible to the screen. ie : you have the best view angle for color accuracy and eyes sharpness.
Of course it HAS to be at least IPS panels as you really don't want TN. We are not playing here, we are working working and we need as best color pallets as possible.

This is the one I was looking for few months ago :
                      http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-34UM95
This one is flat and cheap, but incredible.

Two days before I was going to press on the "buy" button, this one came out :
                      http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-34U...rawide-monitor
Unfortunatly it was sold out pretty much everywhere I tried to buy it.

Since then, the CES came by and more manufacters made 34' screen available, so the market will be way better from now on for that type of screen.

I didn't read any reviews about the dell one but it the idea yes.

Plus, having a 34' and a 27' near each other will not drive you crazy at least. They will be the same "type" the screen and you will have a fluid interaction between the two where as with a 4k and a 27' "normal" 2560px you will have to scale up and down the UIs from one to another. I can bet you that after 2 days you will either use one screen of one thing and the other for something else, but they will not work well in combination, or you will loose a lot in productivity

                      Just my 2 cents.

I'll go for one in few weeks, now that they are more of them on the market, I'll have a look around into reviews again.

                        Hi Lukx

I got myself this one few months ago:
                        http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-34UM95
The great thing about this monitor is that you can easly split screen into 3 screens. I use it very often ... not while working in 3D max but still it is very handy. So in general I am very pleased with what I got. And this is how my desk looks now:

A have also a "slave" monitor on the right side - 8 years old samsung. If I get overexcited how good my rendering looks on the LG monitor ... I simply switch to Samsung with its washed out colours
