          Max Design 2015
          GeForce GTX Titan 1920x1200

          W: 16s
          S: 16s
          W+S: 18s

Interestingly, collapsing all objects before playback gives much better results:

          W: 10s
          S: 11s
          W+S: 11s

that's disappointing, shouldn't it be faster than the K3100m time post by theedge.
just curious what are the specs of your machine?

Hmm tested on my main workstation that has a Quadro 5000 and the results are between 25-35 sec ! Very disappointing.

sorry just to double check, it's a 5000 not the newer k5000?

but still a better time than eyepiz even newer k5200

Yes an old 5000 not k5000
Now I'm not sure if playing an animation with thousands of objects involves only the GPU. The CPU must have an impact on those times I presume. Or am I wrong ?

                        Maybe display mode (directX/nitrous) is interesting also;

                        So here's mine:
                        Quadro 5000 (2-3yo); 3dsmax Design 2014; Nitrous; 1920x1200

                        W: 21 sec
                        S: 23 sec
                        W+E: 29 sec

I'll try this at home on my Quadro K4000 and GTX970 also

PS. Of course I run it full screen and remove the scene explorer tab on the UI

3DS Max Design 2014 x64, Nitrous, 2560x1440, used a stopwatch app for timing.

                              Quadro K5000
                              W: 16.3s
                              S: 16.4s
                              S+E: 17.9s

I've been considering switching to a Titan X, but after seeing Zakkorn's times I wonder if I should look at the K4200...
