  • Vray RT (gpu) in Revit and SketchUp

    Hello,

After googling the web a bit for answers to my questions about the implementation of Vray RT in other software than 3ds Max I got some conflicting results. I know Vray RT is already featured in SketchUp (though it seems unclear if it uses GPU's) and a Revit version of Vray is in the works.

We do all our production renders in 3ds Max but are very interested in getting the same activeshade like performance in SketchUp and Revit. My questions therefore are:

Does Vray RT in SketchUp support (multiple) GPU's and does it work with distributed rendering in activeshade?
Will Vray for Revit have an RT option for interactive rendering and will it support gpu (cuda) and distributed rendering?

Thanks in advance for the info!

    Hello,

RT GPU in Sketchup 2.0 will run off of multiple GPUs on your local machine, but you will get varied results compared to current versions of 3DS Max because of the lacking material support in the V-Ray 2.0 version. GPU Distributed Rendering will technically work, if all GPUs are supported, however, again, because of lacking material support your results will be varied and will not look the same as current versions of 3DS Max.

Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot confirm or deny what features will or will not be supported for the full release of V-Ray for Revit.

Thanks for the reply! At least clears up the questions surrounding SketchUp a bit. Considering Revit I'm looking forward to the release of more information, and in case it's not implemented yet I would like to put it on the wishlist .
