DDR4 RAM - what speed ?

I'm not sure anymore what the best speed to get for new 64GB Ram built.
Basically I'm GSkill fan because other companies died on me in my 20 years pc history
BUt what speed would be th ebest choice nowadays (I'm not into some ultra extreme OC - I play safe cause who want during few hour render to see blue screen )

I'm thinking with the lowest latency so Ripjaws VF4-2800C14Q-64GVK (2800speed with 14-14-14-35-2N lat)

Or I should go with the highest one and forget about lat.

Honestly I don't think you will notice ANY difference what speed RAM you get, just get a lot of it

Exactly. Who cares if it responds 0.0001 seconds faster. You won't notice that.

I ran a server on ddr3 1333, now im running a server with ddr4 2133, no diff what so ever

only difference is the price

I remember someone mentioning that phoenix/fluid sims were improved with faster ram but there's never been a test to show by how much. doesnt do much if anything for rendering as far as i'm aware.

As long as you have disk involved, ram will suffer imo. Ideally cpu and ram and disk should be one entity (that's of course a future though )
