  • Quadro 5000 and GTX480 in the same system?

I just acquired a 3yr. old HP Z820 that came with a Quadro 5000 card in it. It also came with an 1125W PSU.

Is it possible to add an EVGA GTX 480 card along side of the Quadro?
Assuming it is possible, which card would be better used for the display output, and which card should I tell vRay to use for OpenCL? Or should I tell it to use both?

I don't use RT for much of anything right now because of current limitations, but want to start using it in my production workflow, especially for seeing what's going on with lighting.

    Thanks.

You can easily check which card performs better with RT GPU using a simple test scene and our OpenCL device select tool to choose which one to be sued for rendering.

There is a chart with RT GPU render times of different graphic card models:

Note that the render time may change depending on the graphic driver installed.

Also these cards are with different architecture and require separate drivers.
