getting into the O.C.ed stuff eh?

that first one seems rather overpriced, and the cpu in both of them is only a quadcore, so not exactly a monster by today's standards.. the high clockspeed will partially offset that, but afaik, most of the newer quad core chips run close to 4ghz anyway, so its not as exotic as it sounds.

also the fury gpu is fast, but only has 4gb ram... -not sure if its been benchmarked in RT yet? id always go for nvidia if you wanna use RT, and get more gpu ram.
the motherboard is a "gene" one.. those are microATX size.. ive got 2. they are good, but a bit ram-slot limited. its probably already fully populated.

i imagine you are paying top dollar for a 2tb SSD.. id not bother unless you absolutely need it. i have a 512gb ssd, and a live job folder on it.. its using allwaysync to mirror to a large mirrored backup drive. its set so when i delete stuff on the live job drive, the copy is kept on the backup drive. that way i can keep it clean and not lose anything. works like a charm.

second one looks more interesting.. certainly a better price! youd need to get 2x more ram, possibly swap to a 980ti gpu and a more beefy cpu and youd have a killer machine. 4.5ghz is more impressive.

      - im surprised they are offering it with a corsair h60 cooler.. thats the weakest of the range, id not trust it to cool any cpu overclocked so high, although with only a quad it might be ok..

Thanks! I bet if I double the RAM and get a larger CPU, I would be at the $4000 mark. The $4000 seems to be some magic number, because whenever I dial in, that's were it is at.

The problem is, I'll get a dozen people replying to your post saying why I should go another direction . After I read the dozen threads, I get confused as heck, and end up not knowing what to do.

Someone could make a killing building these for people who are clueless, like me, but they would through there own label on it and mark it up 4X.

The reason why no one builds these computer is because the people that buy them expect to get free support when something goes wrong! I don't build as many as I used to due to that reason.
