  • 3dsmax display blanks out

Wondering if there's a workaround to this. I've sort of just come to accept it, but whenever I had a max scene open for an extended time I'll come back to it and find the display within 3dsmax unresponsive. It'll either be white or start echoing information from screens that sat on top of it. It gets really funky. Is there a way to fix this?

    I'm running 3dsmax 2012, using Nitrous (Direct3D 9.0 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti)

Is there a way to correct this? Or would I need switch display drivers?

    this happens to me
white screen, unresponsive, kill via task manager.
I think its to do with the GPU (i have a 980ti but it used to happen with a 770 as well)

ah but you're getting the whole program to hang? I'm only having issue with the viewport. I can still save & close. hmm

I had that recently with max2016 and only way I got around it is change the viewport settings from DX11 to DX9
