  • Dell 7910: Multi-GPU Question

For those of you running the Dell Precision Tower 7910, I need help determining how many GPUs I can run. I currently have one 980 Ti and a Quadro K4200. I can't find additional power plugs to supply an additional 980 Ti, but I can't imagine the case is already maxed out (1300 W).

Dell Chat said the PSU is modular, but they don't sell cables to add on to the PSU and they weren't able to tell me what cables I'd need, nor were they even confident it could be done.

    Anyone have any insight?

    V-Ray Benchmark: CPU 00:52 | GPU 00:32

Can you fit more than 2 dual slot video cards in that machine?

Yes, physically, there is enough space for two dual slot cards and one single slot card. We dug around inside the case a bit more and found an extra un-used plug.

Cool...do you use the the Quadro K4200 for the view port? I Always wondered if you could run Quadro Driver pushing the display and Geforce for the other cards.

Yeah, the Quadro is for Revit interaction mostly. May have to stick a fan in front of my case to help keep temps down since there won't be much breathing room between the GPUs...
