  • GPU - Founders Edition vs Other?

    Hi all

So I'm contemplating my next upgrade and may heavily invest in a couple of 1080's for GPU rendering. So my question:

What's the difference between the "Foundry Edition" of any GTX, vs all these other lovely flavours "Turbo Edition", "Gaming X Edition", "G1 Gaming" etc?
The foundry edition usually have only 1 fan, while some of those others have up to 3 fans and some even have their own Liquid Cooling block.

I'm not a "big fan" of overclocking, so I won't be doing any of that. (pun intended)
Is there anything that makes the one card better than the other?

Generally Turbo, Gaming...etc GPU+VRAM are a bit overclocked and have 2 or 3 Fan on it.
The speed difference is really low for the 1080, but it exists. "better performance" -> "better cooling" -> but more noise.

I find that the 1080FE heats up a little too much, even at idle.
On my 1080 FE I have added one waterblock + heatsink copper on VRAM to reduce the heat and finally I did the same thing for my 2x 980Ti & my K5200.
