  • Gradient Noise Bump

Can someone help me with an idea of how to accomplish a noise bump that fades to smooth? I tried a mapped gradient and gradient ramp, but I cannot get a noise mapped gradient to render with rt cuda. TIA

Try with V-Ray 3.50 Beta 2. Add a VRayColor2Bump texture in the bump slot of the material, and add the procedural textures as input of the VRayColor2Bump. If there are any troubles, send the scene over to check it out.
Keep in mind that still the Gradient Map "noise" params are not supported. We are working on that at the moment.

Thanks Blago, I was just thinking, "I should check out the Color2Bump and try to figure out what it can do." I'll let you know.

YAY, it worked! Thanks! So this is a simple vraymtl test, with only a color2bump in the bump slot, with the bump amount turned up to 200. I had to turn the height up too. There is a simple gradient in the map slot, with a noise on color #3. I had to rotate the W angle 90 degrees to orient on the plane. Other than that, it was pretty straigtforward.
