  • Forest Pack Edge Mode with GPU 3ds Max

    Hi,

    Just curious about Edge Mode and GPU rendering. I guess it's not supported and probably will be a lot of work to implement, to get the opacity Edge Mode to work with Vray GPU. The boundary checking stuff is really neat with CPU rendering and would ofcourse be super cool if it's possible to render it with the GPU aswell. I really like the progress of Forest Pack and Vray GPU together has happend much lately.

    same here. also, not about vray, but have you noticed a different result when you hold Ctrl and press edge in forest pro?

      Beleive that when you hold ctrl and click it, it shows you the preview in the viewport. Otherwise it's calculated at render time.

      Presume this is why its not working with GPU.

        I dialog box is viewed when ctrl clicking and saying that current renderer doesn't support that feature.

        So its calculated at render time Edge mode? Hope it would be a added feature soon, and not to much work

          It's quite cool actually how Forest Edge works with opacity. I wonder how hard it will be to interpret Forest Edge for Vray GPU. Quite usefull feauture.

            Hi again, sorry to bump thread.

            But I was searching a bit about it and couldn't find much info about Forest Pack "Edge Mode" and GPU and future support for it. Hoping it will be availible within a year
