  • Sli?

New to multiple GPU rendering. Is SLI used?

  • #2
V-Ray can use all the GPUs it can find without SLI. SLI is for games and will only cause troubles in raytracing.

Well I have a wonderful green glowing HB-SLI-Bridge in my system now, and I'm wondering if it would be better, performance-wise, to remove it and/or if i should disable SLI in my system-settings. Are there any performance-gains to expect when disabling SLI because so far I was not running into problems with SLI on.

I am not aware of any advantages, just potential problems. But if it works fine already, I don't think you have to do anything extra.

You might want to check two things. One, make sure RT/GPU is using all available GPU power (typically 90 to 100 percent), and two, make sure you have all available VRAM for rendering.

I have seen both issues crop up while using SLI between GPU boards...
