  • Vray RT GPU Stereo for Samsung Galaxy VR

    Hi,

I`m currently trying to create Cube 6x1 for Samsung Galaxy VR in Production Mode.
Which mode in the stereo drop down menu will work with Galaxy VR.
I tried "Oculus Stereo", "Open VR Stereo", "Left and Right" with no success.

    Hi,

You may override camera type in the production render settings - select Cube 6x1. VRay will create monoscopic panorama by default.
For stereoscopic panorama you may also select Stereo mode="Left/Right".

      So far so good.
I have some experience with Vray adv. and Stereoscopic helper. Everything is Ok with Adv.
But in RT I`m rendering the image, but the result is not proper. When you load it in the VR Headset it looks like the eye distance is wrong. When you watch it with one eye only everything is ok, but with both eyes you get wrong stereo effect.

How can I upload the render? It is 10 mb.
When you render it in mono everything looks just fine.

In order to get better result you may try to increase camera target distance, that is used as a zero parallax distance for stereo renders.
Note that RT is not updated interactively in this case and you should restart rendering after every target distance modification.
You may also try to use parallel stereo, that is settable using maxscirpt: renderers.current.stereo_focus=0

I don`t think that this will do, but I`m running a test render right now. Just checked my settings from previous renders with Vray Adv. I use Free camera and I haven`t set any particular Target Distance.

Solved! It actually helped! Thank you very much!
