  • Supported image filters

    Hey guys,
which of the standard 3dsMax image filters are supported in GPU? It seems that Soften or Cubic do not have any effect in GPU. However, I use the blurring filters like Soften or Cubic all the time, they work best for bright highlights that otherwise would look jagged.

    Edit:
How do I clean up these noisy highlights? Settings are default, Max paths/pixel 10000, NT 0,005
They are caused by bright street lamps in a nighttime HDRI. I need these edges as clean as possible.

And here are some more images illustrating the problem. As I said, the only way to get rid of the jagges edges, is using a blurring image filter. Which GPU doesn't support, it seems. Any ideas?

        Hello? Anybody there?
I really want to give GPU a chance (for the 6th time or so), but so far it is an extremely frustrating experience. Errors, errors everywhere.

I've attached the supported filters in V-Ray GPU. There is no way to tell which is supported and which not in 3.6 and this is not great. In the next release we have addressed that.

          Thanks,
          Best,
          Blago.

Does 3.6 already support the filters you showed in your last post? Or do I need a nightly for that?

3.6 should support all of these, yes.
In 3.6, the UI shows the ones that are supported in V-Ray CPU as well, which is unfortunate. We are working on V-Ray GPU dedicated UI for the next release.
