  • max/v-ray on laptop/notebook

Looking for real world feedback on if anyone is using max and v-ray on a laptop and if so what brand/model and how well does it run? Like can you render on it for a hour or two without it melting down.

I use my Pixelbool all the time, using ChromeRemote Desktop. I know it isn't what you mean, but there really isn't a difference if you have a good internet connection. Someday, we will all be accessing our models from the cloud working from a dumb terminal.

like back in the good old days of mainframes and terminals. To be honest i hope not, too much reliance on big corporations who dont necessarily resolve problems as fast as they should.

I am sorry you didn't get any real feedback. The forum is dying a little bit more each day.

Thanks bud, I hear ya. Even Im not here that much lately. Been swamped with work and even though Im hitting HUGE roadblocks with V-Ray and Phoenix I dont have the time usually to post the problem here and wait for an answer in days rather than minutes. Even Chaos support although awesome is still slow, I had a major problem with PHX the other day and ended up creating a work around that I could avoid using it all together. Which really bums me out as I love what it can do but being as its so flakey for me lately Im avoiding it as much as I can which again sucks as 90% of the animations Im working on involve fluids

I am not joking about my Pixelbook. A saw a Chromebook "killer" yesterday. It was built as good, but it had a 15" screen. Yoga Chromebook
