  • combining nvidia cards

    Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade my system by adding another graphics card to increase gpu rendering.

My current HP z440 system is a windos 7 pro with 32gb ram with a single Xeon e5-1620 3.5 ghz cpu. The nvidia card I have is a Geforce GTX 980.

My question is should I be concerned about having 2 different manufactures? I cant seem to find a nvidia geforce gtx 980. I can find a EVGA or PNY card. Should I be worried mixing them?

If that is a real issue should I just look for a newer Nvidia Geforce card? What suggestions of a higher level card would you all suggest?

    Thanks
    Alex

    Cheers

You can mix different vendors and architectures even. It will work with GTX 1080ti as well, for example.
