We're looking to get 2 people in - one american who can start sooner and one who we'll help with a visa.
So far we have over 90 applicants from outside of the US - and 1 from within (with zero architectural experience)

I first joined dbox in the new york studio and after one winter I was (half) joking with my boss about handing in my notice before I hit a second when he told me we were opening a studio down here. Genuinely the greatest decision I ever made in jumping on that. Couple people on the team live across the street from the beach and go for a swim in the ocean every morning.

We get -20+ degrees for weeks on-end. The cold starts in early October and continues to late Aril; it is miserable.

I have ruined myself by moving here, never going to be able to live anywhere else again. When it drops below 40f everyone who lives here starts complaining about the cold.

I have family in Alabama and it's a hoot to hear them complain about the cold, and like you said, it would be short and t-shirt weather here. Isn't Miami the other end of the temperature spectrum? I imagine it gets pretty hot down there.

Funnily enough in summer it only gets just as hot as NYC during a heatwave - it's actually worse in nyc. 9 months of the year it's kind of perfect 80-90deg weather.
