I've posted this on the Deadline forums as I believe it's a Deadline issue but I thought I'd try here too
I have a problem with my 2 PC network (both PCs are identical) - when I submit a 600 frame animation render.
When I submit it via Deadline, the *main* PC renders the frames a LOT slower than the identical slave.
I know for a fact the each frame should take around 40 seconds. But when I submit via Deadline, the Slave machine renders at that speed, whilst the *main* PC suddenly takes well over a minute.
If I render on just the main PC and not via Deadline, the frames get rendered in the expected time of 40 seconds per frame.
It's as though somewhere in Deadline, the PC from which you submit the job is given some sort of lower priority or 'affinity' (I think it's called) - as though it knows it's going to be used on other tasks so isn't taking 100% of the CPUs.
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance.
