Not personally, but a person i'm working with at the office took the class. She really enjoyed it and it seems it was a really nice start point for her to understand Vray better. However, it was a very junior position and she needed to ramp-up, why she took the class. I don't know if it is nice material for more advanced users.

Thanks for that. I can't seem to use their contact system to ask about Vray shader tutorial depth etc.

By the way. I hope you don't mind but is there a chance you could ask your colleague what the material/shader section was like ? I'd really appreciate an insight into that section before we commit to purchasing the course.

I'd have a look at adan martin's videos on youtube - they're free but you'll need to turn on auto translate / caption if you don't speak spanish. I reckon he does a very thorough job of explaining and testing things. Also bertrand benoit's basics are awesome:

The pick of grant warwick's vray course is free too - https://vimeo.com/94813625

Hey, whatever happened to Grant? Make sure you learn from some recent videos. V-Ray has massively changed over the years.

Grant tends to absolutely drive himself into the dirt getting everything up to the highest standard possible on a still over a year. There's no arguing with the results but they're very heavy for most people's production needs and deadlines!

Yeah, that's how I felt. 1/2 hour to set up a shader and 45 minutes to render a test shader ball. It wasn't practical for me. I work just the opposite. Basic diffused with bump unless more is needd . He knew his stuff and I'm sure in some industries it is practical.
