  • Max 2018 - Selection problem - it's as if the left mouse button keeps getting stuck

So I'll click on an object and a crossing window begins despite not holding the left button.

Sometimes an object gets stuck to the mouse pointer, or objects get selected and begin to rotate without me initiating the command.

Could it be graphics driver related? I had to update to prevent Anima from crashing but but I have tried two recent ones. I bought a new mouse too on someone else's advice. No cigar. Everyone I've spoken to has experienced this but their suggestions haven't remedied the problem.

Any ideas? I'm using the latest update, Win10.

If it happens only when working with 3DS Max 2018, can you try different Max version - Max 2017 I see in your signature ? Reinstall ? Reset Max by renaming the ENU folder ?

I've had this happen many times when I accidentally press the Windows button (between CTRL and ALT). Maybe you press it by accident too when navigating with a selected object.

So I did a reinstall - it fixed the issue, I actually ran into some other problems so decided to bite the bullet. The reinstall fixed the problem, and Max worked great for 2 days. I installed Anima this morning and and the problem may have come back. Although I need to test further to make sure I'm not hitting Windows key in this instance as it's happened very infrequently compared to before. Prior to this it definitely was not related to the windows key. Thanks for the input guys.
