Yep. I'd feel vindicated too if I were you. This is the last version I get under my defunct maintenance. Definitely no need to install this one.

I am not seeing the download, but I am seeing the help. I have no plans on installing for along time.

Wait. What's new about this chamfer modifier? I recently upgraded to 2016 (only for vray) which has this built in chamfer modifier. But I still often use Marius Silaghi's quad chamfer modifier (which has existed forever) which works even better and has a great 'push' feature for a seam-like edge.

Once again Autodesk and those crappy updates before known as patches.....Autodesk business plan, acquire every piece of software then kill them...create a monopoly and then F$#% everybody with a subscription......for the old users, increase the price of maintenance service to push them to go subscription.
            show me the money!!

Isn't maintenance being phased out? Eventually, they want every user on subscription.

gawd, even the roadmap looks to have absolutely zero killer features. what i want to see in max is a revamped poly modelling workflow ( it used to be the best in the business, but now its just stale.)

i mean, come on.. we have some flaky booleans... modo has had "meshfusion" since 2014:

                  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjzfhbW2hNY

and the number of times ive asked how to resolve a modelling problem and been told " just take it into zbrush and fix it there"

i want multithreading everywhere.. its embarrassing to have a stunningly expensive piece of software like MAX, in 2019, with 64 (!) core processors coming this year, and im waiting an hour for something to process on a single core.

i DONT want vray incorporating into max..

i DONT want stuff "in the cloud"

i DONT want flaky tools which dont cut it for pro vfx ( bifrost for example.. how in the heck did that develop on from the amazing naiad?!)

i DO want Tyflow (ok id prefer that to be a plugin i expect, but look to see what can be done by ONE GUY, inside the constraints of MAX.. what are the autodesk guys actually doing?)

                  https://www.instagram.com/_tyflow_/?hl=en

that one blows my mind... looks like houdini stuff.

I Do want ALL the reported bugs fixing before a new release..

i DONT want an update every year even if there are no actual worthwhile changes...

take it away for 5 years and come back and blow our socks off, please! -break backwards compatibility, be my guest.. let us keep an old version for old jobs..

id be happy to come back and give autodesk some more money if they did an actual "killer release"

ok got that off my chest.

                  hmph.

Just move on guys, Max had it`s time,it`s prime, there is nothing there to gain anymore, AD is not able to catch up with the rest of the market, CG became too big with so many apps for specific tasks, and they can do every step of pipeline better then Max can. And for us users that spent years in Max, there is nothing new to learn in max.You stay there, you stay behind with it.
I moved most of my work to Houdini few years back and have not looked back ever since. And from price point of view ? 200$ for year for indie licence, for software that can do absolutely everything? , or you prefer chamfer for 1300$? or even better "We worked with our 3rd party developer community to make sure they will have 250+ plugins available for 3ds Max 2020" , guess who pays for keeping those plugins up to date each year...
                    Choices choices...

                            my god....
chamfer tool, a few OSL things and a roadmap that means absolutely nothing. No way I'm paying $2200 AUD for this ...

I still cant get my head around working in Houdini for assembling large complex scenes so feel stuck in max for me.

The think is. We pay Autodesk to use max in its current state. We dont pay for inovation or development.
If you dont like the "current state" dont pay and use an other software.
