  • retiming keyframed objects

i have a bunch of animated objects. client wanted them faster.

i selected the keyframes and scaled them down..

worked fine and client accepted it.

however now im doing final renders, ive noticed motion blur is getting much shorter every 3rd or 4th frame. quite noticeable

objects have one keyframe per frame, so i guess when i scaled, instead of max putting the keyframes on sub frames or interpolating nicely, it has just removed keyframes every few frames, and made the speed uneven.

how to fix, or do properly?

It's a sim no? No way without resimming that I can imagine. Do it in AE is easiest.

I passed on your alpha problem to my AE guru and he has a solution which I'll post when I'm not on a mobile phone

ive fudged it, taken my slightly sawtooth compressed keyframes and changed them to tangent, and then run a "simplify curve" on them with a threshold of 9

its smoothed them out for the most part

obviously changed the motion a bit, but its very fast flying water droplets, so i think it wound be noticeable

rendering tonight will see in the morning!
