I would advise using your own project to learn, with support from tuts, rather than any specific course or tutorial scene.
I just found out about the scale, haha I knew I was missing something.

And learning without tutorials is the way I've been learning most of the things but time is getting harder to come by unfortunately and no time for trial and error.

Yeah, own projects are scares, there's just no time for own projects (which is good), but that doesn't leave much room for R&D of course (although I "force" myself to learn new things with every project). And to sell something when you're not sure that you can deliver (near perfect quality, nothing less ) is a hard one.

Tbh with syntheyes you've got a few things that are going to get you far better results:

      - Manual tracking means you get points where you want helpers to appear in max for reconstruction, plus you can verify easily how stable the 2d tracks are and thus how stable your track will be.
      - Coordinate systems so you can set your tracks to be the correct scale
      - Constraints to make sure your ground plane is level and if you continuously refine your track, the results don't come out in totally different places each time
      - How to undistort / redistort footage - vray renders everything with perfectly straight lines, lenses bend footage towards the edges. You need to either straighten your footage or bend your renders by the right amount or else your 3d will start to lift off as it gets to the sides of the image!

Syntheyes is soooo worth buying, if you keep your license current, you automatically have email support from russ that writes it - it's worth it's weight in gold.
