    Anyone using this?

It works ok, when it works, but I'm having so much issues exporting stuff and getting it to work in 3ds max. The most succesfull way so far for me is exporting as fbx and linking the fbx in max. For use as stills, but even then I've got a file that will somehow only export about half the people in the anima file....15min. to set up the file, 1 hour later and still no decent export!

Anyone run in to this and have a tip? There's no forum on axyz so besides starting a support ticket, which I have, not much help. Got a quick response from support though so going through it with them now.

We will be doing a football stadium next week......that should be fun!

Tbh I might even look at tyflow for this instead?

my god anima....it should be easy to use but its not.
dont get me started on the node locked licensing, imagine rolling out an update to 40 machines. terrible support unless they want to feature their badly rigged messed up people on their showreel

(agree with using tyflow and maybe mixamo with for a more static stadium crowd)

Yeah it's crap imo. Just their cringe-inducing little marketing film on their site should be enough to make potential buyers flee
If you have the dosh then maybe Massive Jet is coverable by the budget...

I don't understand it's 2019, shouldn't there be better software than these aforementioned ones. It's all too much hassle, and anima looks like all characters are walking with a stick up their ***, besides the horrible fake quality of the models and textures. So any developers out there reading this, there's a ton of money to grab on this front of visualization.

Railclone could accomplish this to a great extent no? They have a tutorial showing how, so I would have a look to see if it fits with what you need to do.

If not then see if you can offset 6 grand and get Massive Jet - after assessing the trial of course
My thinking would be that if you can justify the price somehow, then the results may well pay in terms of being able to offer the crowd thing to more clients.

And I thought 3dsmax was expensive. I don't see anything that justifies that price on that website.

To be honest I haven't used it so can't qualify the cost personally. It has a good pedigree in film use, so I guess it must be seen to be more than competent.
I think I'll go for the trial and see for myself this weekend.
I guess it's a bit like something like Forest - which I guess we all use now, as it's, along with multiscatter (don't use it any more), simply better than any other available options and a 'must have' for most - cost is relative.
I'd suggest that comparatively not many people need the power that something like Massive offers, hence the relatively high cost. And if one does need it then I'd guess one or two jobs using it would pay for it.

Anyway as I mentioned, I'd give Railclone a go as that would seem to be able to do the job to an acceptable quality and is waaay cheaper

An interesting perspective from a VFX crowd guy re. Massive/Golaem
It is strange how most known sims are Maya only, other than the relatively new Massive Jet.

Thanks for the suggestions, ended up using their live plugin for max feature and that did work. Got quick responses from support aswell so that was nice.

Will look into the other ones though, the insta videos for tyflow are amazing / hilarious!

Yeah Railclone should be good aswell now with V4 and the new multimaterial system. Used it a few years back for something similar but creating the massive multimaterial wasn't a very pleasant experience back then.
