Beautiful curling partcle animations - Does anyone remember these?

I think these were done about 6-7 years ago. There were a series of animations where particles would kind of curl and create these abstract shapes. From memory, I'm pretty sure they used a custom script to get that kind of circular/curl particle movement. Does anyone remember these animations or have an idea about the script?
