I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good websites that has a comprehensive visual listing/reference of architectural/interior design terms (images with labels.) I did a search on the Internet and found it spotty at best. I'm worried that someone might try to contact me and that I would seem 'new' (which I am) because I don't know what they are referring to.

I've searched for this too. Lots of assorted info, but nothing comprehensive. I've even made trips to the bookstore and library with no success. I'd prefer a hard copy desk reference. What I'd really like would include not only terms (cupola, clerestory, fenestration, board and batten, dentils, etc...) but also samples of architectural styles (craftsman, bungalow, tudor....)
Anyone?????sigpic

I recommend: A Visual Dictionary of Architecture by Francis D. K. Ching. I love all his books. My favorite is building construction illustrated.

Yes, Ching's books are great. OR find an old/used copy of Architectural Graphic Standards. Should have everything you're looking for plus lots of useful information. New copies are quite expensive ($200+). I think there are softcover student version for much less. Might be able to find them at a university bookstore. I've got a 1929 edtion that I love. The hand drawn details are exqusite.
