  • windows 10 max minimised

ive just made the jump to windows 10.. ive held off as long as poss.

    i hate it.

anyway, ive just minimised Max to the taskbar. its rendering an animation

    now i cant maximise it.

sometimes clicking an app in windows 7 didnt work either, but you right clicked "bring to front" or "maximise" and that always worked.

those options are not present in windows 10.

even alt-tab isnt bringing it up.

nothing in task manager helping either.

    help?

edit: ive tried every generic option found online for maximising it.. it ignores all of them.. ive tried changing max priority from low to realtrime, no change... it only lets me maximise it when it finishes rendering.

    awful

Agreed, it's very unstable from my point of view. I'm getting constant explorer non-responsiveness, reeeeally slow searches in explorer and now, with max rendering, I can't access anything else on the taskbar, not even the start menu.....it just flashes on/off.
If I right click an image a lot of the time it'll fuck up explorer and it's just wasting so much of my time. Poor world, with windows on 90% of pc's
Oh yeah, I have no idea how you managed to minimise max when rendering; doesn't work for me.
It's like we have all lost control of our workflow because M'soft thinks that all people want to do is prod mobile screens to look at kittens

I hate win 10 too especially focus stealing. If you havent encountered yet, get ready.
You start 3ds max and you can't read/reply your emails or browse web anymore. It constanty switches to 3ds max as it loads. Very irritating.

Minimise maximise never happend to me.
But I always change from visual appearance settings as performance-based.and disable all the fancy stuff aero etc.
Maybe trying that can help you.

Same issue here. Also, the "Open with" feature instantly freezes the explorer. Window 7 was so nice, but we are not allowed to use it anymore.

Most annoying part is that focus stealing is called "new feature" in windows support forums

Yeah I'm also noticing 'open with' is freezing explorer, though not always, which is strange. You can open another window at least but that's not the point. They broke something crucial and it is astonishingly incompetent.
But I guess they are Microsoft, so they DO know what's best for us.

i found a suitably stupid solution to my "max wont maximise" issue..

select another window. drag it to the side of the monitor.. it does that "maximise to half the screen" thing. you then get a load of little windows in the other half of the screen allowing you to choose what to put there. choose max.. ping! it comes back fullscreen.

now why on earth that should work when every specific "maximise" option fails.. i have no idea... pfff. microsoft.
