  • 2d compositing work

    hey all,

    I know this isn't exactly the forum to post this, but I wanted your opinion on some 2d comping I did for this vegetation/planting.

    here's the orginal pic:

    and here's the comp work....mostly RPCs and hand painting:

    let me know

    thanks,

    Good landscaping job, but my first impression is:

    #1 - Lose the girl. Distracting, doesn't fit, and looks like she was flash-frozen while dancing badly. (Is that Elaine?)
    #2 - Need to desaturate and darken the plantings to match the photo (Look at the trunk of the tree on the left compared to the ones you put in)
    #3 - Need to match seasons of plantings. Your client probably doesn't want leafless trees and bown plants, so I'd paint some leaves on the existing trees.
    #4 - What the heck, add some water in the pool. That should impress them.
    #5 - Don't know what your landscape plan calls for (if you have one), but I'd cut out a freeform chunk of grass, edge it, and fill it with a stone or red bark bed. I think that would look sharp.
