  • New odd behaviour after upgrades

    Any pointers appreciated here please.

I recently upgraded chip/gfx/ram - all good quality stuff
Recently I have been experiencing massive lags with something or other.
What happens is that suddenly within Max I'll try to pan the view and it will just stop, lag and start again, only to repeat until I have to shut it down.
However everything under win 10 is affected, so anything else I have open will take a while to shut down and windows itself will be long to access the start menu and subsequent commands to shut down.
In shutting down it also takes a long time and appears to do it in stages, with the lights on the ram going out last.

This will happen a couple of times a day and has been for the last couple of months I guess.
I can go a whole day or more without it happening - e.g. I was purely loading scenes/rendering for a project for 36 hours yesterday today and it did not occur.
This surprised me as I am now used to it happening probably after about 8 hours of working.

Very disappointing after a £3k upgrade so if you have any ideas I'd be grateful

    Current specs: 3950x 16core, 2080 rtx ti, 64gb ddr4 3200. I have a second card, my old 980ti plugged in also.
