It seems like I have to delete my ENU file once a month, which means I have to recreate my custom stuff; mainly my toolbar with scripts. What can I do to save my personal stuff so when my ENU crashes I can just import or something?

I think Forest Pro keeps corrupting something in mine, but that is just a guess. The first thing Autodesk says if anything goes wrong in MAX is to delete the ENU file, so I know that there must be issues.Bobby Parker

I think looking at your screen crosses-eyed, might corrupt it too. Deleting your ENU (copy it somewhere), launching MAX so it is recreated, and closing MAX, replacing it with the one that went bad seems to work. It seemed to have fixed my Forest Pro issue and I get my custom toolbar back. It would be great for a one-click solution, AD does have a page about saving your custom stuff, but it is lame, copying things from all over the place.Bobby Parker

Actually, that can be automated with some programming in AutoIt. Start 3dsmax -> close 3dsmax, copy existing folder to the ENU location and start 3dsmax again. That can be done with a simple script, and you will end up with a single .exe file in the end. But you should be familiar with AutoIt to do that. Another way is to do that with PowerShell scripting. But I believe that's not what you are expecting.
During my work in Pikcells I've made such script with Powershell, placed icon on the desktop of each workplace. So when something happens - you start it and it's done.Available for remote work.

I got a corrupt menu again, but I found out that the SINI suite of plugins pretty much gives me everything I need. Instead of a dozen scripts I have to reinstall each time, I can use their scripts. It's awesome!Bobby Parker

Don't try to delete ENU folder first.
Usually it is 3dsmax.ini that causes issue,
So, rename 3dsMax.ini in ENU first to see if the issue is gone.
Then, all your script would be OK.
"
or.. back up "scripts" and "usermacros", "usericons" and copy back.

Also don't relaunch max while it's crashing. Let it crash fully then reopen and you might be lucky. Also take a backup of your enu folder whenever you make any changes...

It seems to be a MAX issue and should be fixed. I have been good for a week or so.Bobby Parker
