Went to a demo at E3 and was really excited by Scene States - I cannot seem to find the menu though (if you are unfamiliar with the term it is basically a shorthand for saving versions of a scene within a project - you can apply various materials and have varying lighting set up's which you can jump between with a right click context menu) Vincent did the demo and didn't mention it as a new feature or script.
Has anybody got an idea where I can find it ? or has anybody heard of it before ?
    Thanks

      Nope

Still can't find them - I am running 7.5 and have tried reseting the UI - I even opened 3ds 6 but still nothing. Could it be that one of my plug-in's has killed them ( I have both FR 1 and Vray) which appear in the right click.
Do you know what sub-heading they are under so I can customize it myself ? I had a good look on Friday to no avail.

      Thanks again

On mine it appears on the top-right quad, just under the Hide Unselected/Unhide All stuff

            It is the oddest thing

It just doesn't exist in my copy of 3ds. I have searched through all the customize UI settings and there is just no reference to scene states, manage scene states or any other state. It doesn't appear in the tools drop down menu - it is knowhere to be seen. How did you find out about scene states -this demo was the first time I had heard of it and I can't find anything in the help files ?
I think my copies of 3ds are haunted !!!!

It's new with 7.5, maybe part of the Viz extensions? Did you uninstall those because of other problems?

                That could be it

That could be it - I don't think I installed the viz extensions - I'll give that a shot and fingers crossed the mystery will be over.
                I'll let you know.

                Thanks as always

Beware tho, as the VIZ extension is causing UVW problems with cebas plugins installed
