What we need is for these systems to work with photon maps and Irr maps ... now that would be something..

        very cool also!
You have tested it with wich kind of graphic card?
I like the quick opening windows than rtre, it seems to make very light file weight

ran it on a x700 at the highest resolution and the fps was decent, the cloud city demo would crash at full screen but worked in windowed. I still think these RTs' are too limited for any real use. The next gen consoles look very interesting though.

has anyone here every thought of or tried to use a first person shooter game engine for arch viz interiors. with interactive lights etc (using baked GI maps that can change lighting when different lights are turned on)

We've used hl2. We could serve a model or two up if a bunch of people had Steam accounts. Very nice solution.
                Best regards,

I do have steam and would love to see your results
Be great to get a quick overview of your process too, are you using hammer or?

I have started researching and playing with www.Collada.org the interchange format for the PS3, Looks like this hardware may really make it feasable to provide realtime installation easily and affordably. Licensing is the one barrier I see.

HL2/Steam is kind of a hassle. The fact is that we were working on this export just after x-mas and there were no exporters for max that we could use since we were using 7.0. We used hammer to model one scene and max and GLB tools to model the other scene. Those scenes worked very well. The exporters we used from max to hammer were producing trash.

Let me see about setting up the server...
