  • Calibrated Monitor

To do my screen calibrated, I use the Spyder Pro 5; however, I am never happy with it. I do it because I am told it is mandatory for color accuracy, but mine always comes out dark and yellow. I usually turn it off, hold my iPhone up to my screen and I match to what is on my iPhone. I have a 43'' Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor, which could be the issue, but then why can I change things by eye with a few tweaks? I am talking, night and day between my eye and the Spyder.

What software are you using for the calibration and characterization? I too have the spyder pro and was unsatisfied with the included software. I switched over to displayCal, https://displaycal.net/, a few years ago and have been very happy with it. It might not be as easy to setup (you'll have to add in the drivers, etc) but it's been great.

In the past I've used both the Spyder and X-rite in different environments.

In my experience and opinion, the X-rite device gave better results and you can also do scanners, printers and mobile devices with it! It was a ColorMunki Design from X-Rite if I remember correctly. You dont get that specific model anymore, but the newer version looks even better
        Kind Regards,
